AUBURN UNIVERSITY
Auburn AAMN chapter members Davis Routh and Eli Joseph helped to co-lead a nursing study abroad mission to Ecuador. This group provided primary and women's care in community based settings to underserved populations in the capital city of Quito.
UNIVERSITY OF NEVADA - Las Vegas
The AAMN Chapter at the University of Las Vegas - Nevada has been relaunched, with Nicholas Curry (far left) serving at the chapter's new faculty advisor. Members of the chapter took part in a recruitment event on campus on May 11 as part of National Nurses Week. "We spread awareness of the new chapter and gathered interest among our current students to begin the process of recruiting members," Curry said.
UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH
Members of the University of Pittsburgh Men in Nursing Club visited Sto-Rox Junior/Senior High School in Allegheny County, Pa., on May 20 to participate in the school's Career Day. Together, they visited this underserved school community to introduce students to the nursing profession, highlighting its meaningful impact, diverse career pathways, and abundant opportunities for professional growth and advancement. By sharing their own educational journeys and experiences, they challenged the misconception that nursing is a profession for only certain genders and demonstrated that people of all gender identities have an important and valued role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care. This was the chapter's fifth high school outreach event of the academic year.
