Call for 2024 AAMN Award Nominations

Deadline For Nominations is June 30

LUTHER CHRISTMAN AWARD

Submission Guidelines:

  • Must be a current member of AAMN and in good standing.

  • A Letter must be included that summarizes the applicant’s accomplishments.

 

The e-mail submission MUST include:

  • Full name and contact information for the member.

  • Contact information should include, telephone number, e-mail address and physical address.

  • The member will be notified by August 16, 2024.

  • The awards / certificates will be presented during the 2024 AAMN National Conference. 

 

Selection Criteria:

Finalists are selected via blind review using an award-specific grading rubric. The application process will include a letter requesting review for the award. The letter should describe:

  • Historical evidence of the nominee's visible, commendable and substantial contribution to nursing.

  • A visible, commendable and substantial contribution to men in nursing.

  • A strong, clear, and concise description of the reason for the candidate's nomination.  

Deadline:
Submissions must be received by June 30

All submissions must be e-mailed to admin@aamn.org  ATTN: AAMN: Luther Christman Award.

GENE TRANBARGER AWARD

This award recognizes candidates for outstanding writing.

Submission Guidelines: 

● Must be a current member of AAMN and in good standing.
● A letter must be included that summarizes the applicant’s accomplishments.

 

The e-mail submission MUST include:

  • Full name and contact information for the member.

  • Contact information should include, telephone number, e-mail address and physical address.

  • The member will be notified by August 16, 2024.

  • The awards / certificates will be presented during the 2024 AAMN National Conference. 

 

Selection Criteria:
Finalists are selected via blind review using an award-specific grading rubric. The application process will include a letter requesting review for the award. The letter should describe the nominee’s article(s), book chapter(s) or book(s) that focus on nursing, men in nursing, student nurses or men’s health.

LEE COHEN AWARD

Submission Guidelines: 

● Must be a current member of AAMN and in good standing.
● A letter must be included that summarizes the applicant’s accomplishments.

 

The e-mail submission MUST include:

  • Full name and contact information for the member.

  • Contact information should include, telephone number, e-mail address and physical address.

  • The member will be notified by August 16, 2024.

  • The awards / certificates will be presented during the 2024 AAMN National Conference.

  • Visible, commendable and substantial contributions to local, regional or nationally visible contributions to nursing and men in nursing.

EMERGING LEADER AWARD

Submission Guidelines: 

● Must be a current member of AAMN and in good standing.
● A letter must be included that summarizes the applicant’s accomplishments.

 

The e-mail submission MUST include:

  • Full name and contact information for the member.

  • Contact information should include, telephone number, e-mail address and physical address.

  • The member will be notified by August 16, 2024.

  • The awards / certificates will be presented during the 2024 AAMN National Conference.

Selection Criteria:

The application process will include a letter requesting review for the award.

Finalists are selected via blind review using an award-specific grading rubric based on the following:

  • The nominee must be a member of the AAMN.

  • The nominee must have fewer than 4 years of experience as a registered nurse.

  • The nominee's maturing advocacy for the AAMN objectives.

  • A description of career accomplishments (i.e. education, publications, awards, participation in local, regional or national nursing or health care-related activities).

Deadline:
Submissions must be received by June 30

All submissions must be e-mailed to admin@aamn.org  ATTN: AAMN: Emerging Leader Award.

OUTSTANDING STUDENT AWARD

Submission Guidelines: 

● Must be a current member of AAMN and in good standing.
● The student must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program.

 

The e-mail submission MUST include:

  • Full name and contact information for the member

  • Contact information should include, telephone number, e-mail address and physical address.

  • The member will be notified by August 16, 2024.

  • The awards / certificates will be presented during the 2024 AAMN National Conference.

Selection Criteria:

Finalists are selected via blind review using an award-specific grading rubric.

The application process will include a letter requesting review for the award. The letter must include:

 

  • A description of substantial and commendable contribution toward  AAMN objectives.

  • A description of contributions that occurred on a local, regional or national level.

  • A summary of the nominee’s accomplishments over the previous year.

The nominee’s Curriculum vitae / Resume must also be included.

​

Letters of Recommendation:

There is a limit of 3 letters of recommendation. These letters must include:

  • A letter from your clinical instructor or another nursing professor in the school of nursing regarding the member's professional growth and work to meet the selection criteria.

  • Recent accolades including the nominee’s current GPA along with any awards, or health care-related publications.

  • Any participation in other local, regional or national organization.

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER AWARD

Submission Guidelines: 

● Must be an approved chapter of AAMN.

 

The e-mail submission MUST include:
▪ Full name and contact information for the member
▪ Contact information should include, telephone number, e-mail address and physical address.

  • The chapter will be notified by August 16, 2024.

  • The awards / certificates will be presented during the 2024 AAMN National Conference.

Selection Criteria:

The application process will include a letter requesting review for the award. The letter should include:

  • A summary of the chapter’s accomplishments over the previous year.

  • Details of chapter activities that focus on the AAMN objectives.

  • A description of chapter accomplishments (i.e. regular meetings, participation in local, regional or national events that promote the AAMN mission and objectives).

  • A description of chapter membership (total members, number of new RN and student members, retention/tenure of RN and student members).

Submissions must be received by June 30
