Volunteer From Home During COVID-19 as Part of
the AAMN/VITAS Volunteer Call to Action
Our Volunteer Program with VITAS Healthcare is officially a go! This is a great opportunity to positively impact our communities if you find yourself at home.
The program invites all interested AAMN members to call hospice patients and their families who are physically distanced in their homes for a simple support check-in.
During each call, you’ll ask simple questions about any current needs, needed supplies, COVID-19 concerns or questions and what patients/caregivers know about the next visit or call by a VITAS staff member. After each call, you’ll fill out a simple log with the answers to the questions you asked.
You must be a practicing RN or nursing student and must participate in a one-time Zoom training to become a VITAS hospice volunteer. After completion of the training and four-week volunteer commitment, student participants will receive a certificate and a free AAMN membership.
